PASEGES was established as a non-profit organization in 1935 and is the leading body of the country’s Agricultural Cooperative Organizations in terms of ideology and coordination, supporting, promoting, boosting their activities and representing them at an international, European and national level. Its members, the Greek farmers’ organizations counting for about 750.000 individuals, are dispersed in all geographical districts of the country; 250 Agricultural Cooperative Organizations and around 15 Cooperative Sociétés Anonymes. In its capacity as the institutional spokesman of associated farmers and their unions, PASEGES Brussels office supports their positions abroad, participating in European and international organizations, such as COPACOGECA, CIBE, EESC, whilst closely following up developments within the WTO.
